Our Community Worker

We recently employed Andy Pearson as our Community Worker. Our church is located in a largely deprived area in East Kirkcaldy, and the aim of Andy’s job is to meet some of the pressing needs of local residents. Andy is co-ordinating the work of the church in the local area and working in conjunction with other support services.

Current and Future Projects

As a congregation we worked through Tearfund's Church Community and Change programme which helped us to look at the community around us and decide how we can best help it. One thing that was obvious to us was that there is no Community Centre in the area which means that there is nowhere for agencies to provide services and meet with clients. Having made contact with local agencies our facilities are now used every day by groups like Fife Council, various addiction services, Health Workers and others who work in the community.

Every Saturday we run a Community Cafe which is regularly attended by local residents and passers by. It's a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee, some home baking and and a chat. Please click here for more information.

At present we are looking into a variety of projects for the future which include a parent and toddler group, Road to Recovery meetings and a befriending service. Please keep checking back for updates!
